Central Jakarta City Council Collects Aspirations from Sawah Besar Residents

The Central Jakarta City Council, Tuesday (9/29), visited Sawah Besar District to gather aspirations from representatives of residents from five urban villages.

The activity, which was attended by the Assistant to the Central Jakarta Government, Prasetyo Kurniawan, was attended by 100 participants consisting of RT, RW and LMK administrators from five urban villages in Sawah Besar District.

Some of the aspirations conveyed by residents include the installation of CCTV in locations prone to brawls and strengthening the river embankment behind the RW 07 post at the Kartini Urban Village Office.

"This activity is a forum to accelerate the follow-up of public complaints," he said.

In this activity, Prasetyo explained, eight members of the Central Jakarta City Council collected and channeled residents' aspirations to the mayor.

"The City Council is obligated to oversee the proposals voiced for follow-up resolution at the urban village and district levels. It also coordinates with relevant agencies if handling at the city level is required," he explained.

Chairman of the Central Jakarta City Council, Nasirman Chaniago, revealed that last year there were 22 aspirations from residents of Sawah Besar District that had been followed up by the Central Jakarta City Government.

"We are grateful that dozens of suggestions voiced by Sawah Besar residents have been followed up by the relevant regional apparatus organizations in Central Jakarta," he admitted.

Meanwhile, Head of RW 07 Kartini, Indra Jaya, stated his party again proposed the construction of a river embankment for the safety of children playing.

"Apart from installing CCTV, we also proposed installing a river embankment to the City Council," he said.
